PRESENT TO SPEAK
First Selectman Patton updated the board on the stop sign situation on Turnpike Rd. Mr. Eugene Csiki had approached him on the subject and was advised to come to the meeting to voice his concern. Selectman Lewis had spoken to another neighbor—there are mixed feelings on the subject. Correspondence from Karl Acimovic is to be sent to the Csiki’s as they were not present.
CORRESPONDENCE
A list of correspondence was available at the meeting and in the Selectman’s office.
OLD BUSINESS
VILLAGE HILL ROAD BRIDGE
The supplier for the bearings is experiencing a delay in delivery and the bearings won’t be delivered until September 16, 2002 or later. They cannot ship until the bearing pads are in—the bearings go on the pads and the steel goes on top of the bearings. Village Hill Road will close, as scheduled, September 9-13th from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. but additional work can be completed. Hopefully they do not run into any ledge while installing the drainage.
PERSONNEL HOURS
The Selectmen reviewed the Salary and Benefit Notifications for each non-elected exempt employee. Selectman Eldredge suggested that the elected vs. appointed situation should be clarified. The longevity of the Tax Collector incorporates her years as a Tax Collector, not separating those years elected and those appointed.
FIRST SELECTMAN PATTON MOTIONED TO APPROVE THE HOURS AS PRESENTED.

Selectman Lewis asked if some sort of light could be installed in front of the WFD #1 at 426 River Road to flash when emergency vehicles were exiting onto Route 32. First Selectman Patton said he would mention it to the department but that this was a very expensive process and that they would have to go through the DOT.
